CANCELLATION AND MAKE UP LESSONS

  • You must notify your tutor latest by 8am on the day of the scheduled lesson if you need to cancel, via SMS or phone call.

  • If you cancel with late notice, the lesson will be chargeable with a 50% cancellation fee. The only exception is if there is an emergency or severe illness. Proof must be provided (e.g., medical certificate).

  • If you are aware that you will be absent on certain dates (i.e., for a holiday or event), please notify your teacher at least a week in advance.

  • If the student is sick, you must contact your tutor to cancel/reschedule the lesson as this puts them at risk. If a student is not well enough to attend school, then they are not well enough to attend private lessons. 

  • Tutors will be in charge of scheduling lessons on TutorCruncher - please communicate with your tutor via SMS/text message/email to discuss agreed lesson times.

  • Your lesson time is locked in for the term. If you need to change times, please contact your teacher directly. Please note this may not be possible unless the teacher has availability.

INSTRUMENTS + CARE

  • You must source your own instrument before commencing lessons with one of our tutors. If you do not have an instrument yet, you can view vendors we recommend here to hire or purchase one.

  • If you or your child cause damage to your tutor's instrument, repair costs will be chargeable to you.

ENROLMENT & INVOICING

  • A one-off payment of $40 will be charged for the first trial lesson (45 mins), and there is no obligation to purchase a GMS Lesson Package until you have decided to continue with regular lessons.

  • All lessons are to be paid in advance.

  • Please note that the sibling discount only applies to one student. If you decide to purchase different lesson packages for your children, the discount will be applied to the smaller lesson package. We do not offer an additional discount, for example, if three siblings enrol together.

  • Only one discount may be applied to a Lesson Package; the greater discount will be used.

  • If a lesson is cancelled, payment will be carried over and applied to the following scheduled lesson. Lessons that are paid for as part of a Lesson Package are not assigned to specific dates, rather you will receive an invoice/receipt afterwards with a record of the exact dates the lessons occurred. It is, however, expected that you will have weekly lessons at a set time.

  • Students must fulfil all lessons charged on the invoice for their chosen Lesson Package. If you choose to discontinue using our services, the remaining amount for lessons that have not taken place will be refunded to you. A fee will be deducted from this amount if your Lesson Package had a discount. You must notify us that you are planning to cease lessons at least 2 weeks in advance. Please note that telling a teacher does not count as notifying admin - written confirmation via email is required.

ONLINE PAYMENTS

  • All payments are made online via our direct debit system.

  • There are to be no cash payments at any time.

  • A credit request will be sent to you based on the Lesson Package you have chosen.

  • You are able to change Lesson Packages after the lessons in your current package have all taken place.

  • Unless you notify us in advance, it is assumed you have chosen the same Lesson Package to repeat and do not wish to change to a different option.
